LEGAL COUNSEL - INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT - FAMILY OFFICE
LONDON, ENGLAND
FULL TIME ROLE
£150,000 + BENEFITS + HYBRID ROLE
Role Overview:
Key Accountabilities:
Structure and planning
- Maintain and review the tax and legal structure of the Family Office;
- Lead the structuring processes for new activities of the Family Office;
- Oversee the personal taxation and inheritance planning of the principals of the Family Office;
- Ensure the governance mechanisms work properly;
Transactional work:
- Analyse legal ramifications of investments and investment structures;
- Review transactional documentation including limited partnership agreements, subscription documents, side letters and related investment materials;
Corporate:
- Assist with governing entity documents, policies and procedures;;
- Monitor the external regulatory environment to identify trends and risks, and advise on applicable laws, regulations and guidance;
- Draft and review various contracts and agreements, including consents, nondisclosure agreements and other businessrelated documentation;
- Organise and review the legal framework for employment matters of the Family Office.
- 5+ years of inhouse experience, including 3+ years working in investment or corporate development legal teams. Experience at toptier legal firms at the beginning of the career is a strong plus.
- Experience providing diversified legal services (investments, corporate, regulatory, tax, IP)
- Knowledge of English law.
- Knowledge of / familiarity with Delaware / California / other US law is a plus.
- Knowledge of private equity and venture capital industry specifics is a plus.
