Finance Assistant

Chartered Membership Body

Remote working, with 1 full day per month in London

The Role of Finance Assistant
The Finance Assistant will work as part of a small busy team to provide financial support to the institute.


If you have just finished your degree related to finance and are looking to start your career or if you have some finance experience and are looking for that next exciting challenge, this could be a great step for you.


You will work closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Officers to support day-to-day administration, transaction processing & reporting for HQ and Groups.


You will provide cover and support during periods of training, high volume events activity and under any other unexpected circumstances.

You will work with colleagues across all areas of the business to provide a timely and accurate financial service.

Person Specification
Previous experience in a similar environment with relevant experience of accounts work.

Knowledge and experience of working with a computerised accounts programs and databases (for example Sage, iMIS, Zahara).

Numerate with a clear understanding of accounting procedures and a sound knowledge of business processes and procedures.

Excellent customer service and communication skills, written and verbal.


Ability to build strong working relationships with a broad range of internal and external contacts, including members, colleagues, and suppliers.

Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Honest and trustworthy.


Computer literate with a good practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including, Word, Excel and Outlook, and database experience.

Proactive, focused and organised in approach, with demonstrable experience of accurate delivery on time, in support of organisational objectives.

Track record of quickly developing skills and absorbing new information.

Evidence of commitment to continual learning and best practice approaches.

Excellent team player with a positive approach to new challenges.
