Public Sector Senior Audit Manager job with top 10 accountancy firm working across East Anglia and Essex

Hays are working with a global accountancy and business advisory firm, who looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Senior Audit Manager for their East Anglia team.

Their dedicated public sector assurance team in East Anglia operate across the whole regionfrom bases in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and London, servicing clients in those locations, as well as Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Sussex and Surrey.

Their clients include an extensive range of NHS, local and central government organisations, including the police and fire services. These vary in size, from £50 million to £2.2 billion gross expenditure per annum, and in technical complexity.

You will be someone who can work pro-actively, managing your own tasks, but you will also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and Partners to enable the firm to serve their clients effectively.

Youwill be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing their delivery and providing additional services to their clients.

The firm is looking for someone
- with CIPFA or equivalent professional qualification

Educated up to degree level
Previous Audit Manager in public sector/central government/NHS
Significant experience of delivering audit and other assurance services to major clients
Excellent working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and Financial Reporting requirements.
Managing and developing staff (not only audit teams), i.e. coordinating staff projects, mentoring, counselling, appraising, recruiting etc
