Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Apprenticeship

Our award winning apprenticeship programme is a four year programme, the first three years are spent on the job learning in the depot with an allocated mentor and attending a specialist training college in either Glasgow or Wolverhampton (depending on home location).

This will be - 9 separate weeks per year on block release. Travel and accommodation whilst at college will be paid for by the Company.

You will work towards a ̃Mechelec' qualification, so will be equally skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.

The fourth year of the programme has been specifically designed by Stagecoach UK Bus to consolidate technical skills, by way of attendance at a series of development courses including manufacturer's technical courses.

After four years you will be fully industry skilled, with the prospect of a rewarding career ahead of you. Further progression towards an engineering management position may then be available through our Staff Development Programme.

Requirements:

A genuine interest in moving into an engineering role and an aptitude for mechanical and electrical work.

If you do not have GCSE grade C or above in English, Maths and a Science or Standard Grade 3 or above (or equivalent), then you will need to gain these as part of the apprenticeship, this will involve additional attendance at college.

Your existing role, or one which is equivalent, will be held for you, should you decide that the apprenticeship is not the career route for you.

The selection process includes ability tests and an interview.
