About the Office of Government Property


The Office of Government Property (OGP) supports government and the wider public sector in managing their estate more efficiently and effectively.

We not only help to deliver the finest public services, we support the government's priorities by unlockingsurplus land for housing, and encouraging the creation of public service jobs outside London to support economic growth.


We depend on the availability of comprehensive, up-to-date and usable data to help drive savings and inform estates strategies across government.

Our Data and Analysis team manages a large central database of government properties and land, which is usedby government departments, the devolved administrations and wider public sector.


This is an exciting phase in the Data and Analysis Team as we look to implement a transformational information strategy and create an analytical centre of excellence within OGP.You could be part of it.


About the role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will scope, identify and define data analysis needs.

It's an outward-facing role where you will work closely with OGP programmes to understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.

Youwill be expected to understand programme requirements, produce forecasts and generate options analysis in Excel.

A key challenge will be articulating complex data challenges in simple language to a variety of audiences using PowerPoint and Business Intelligencetooling.


It's a stretching role:

you can expect to work across different programmes and, as well as using existing models, you will have the opportunity to develop new analytical tools.


About the person


Inquisitive and self-motivated, you'll bring experience of working on large and complex programmes, where you will have investigated information requirements and advised on analysis to be undertaken.

You'll be highly numerate and adept at solving complexproblems.

Expertise in consulting and data storytelling is important, and you must be capable of producing outputs that use visualisation and data analytics.

Skills in Excel are essential and you should have some familiarity with Tableau, Tableau Prep, Pythonand SQL- although additional training will be provided.

A willingness to learn and develop is therefore essential.
