Clerical Officer:
Band 2, Permanent Post

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to provide accurate and prompt administration support to the multidisciplinary School Nursing Team primarily based in Flint Clinic, however, some work will also be carried out at neighbouring Flintshire/Wrexham Clinics therefore own transport arrangements will be essential to travel between sites.


By the nature of the duties, the post-holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients, carers, relatives, medical staff and other service users, using the telephone and in writing, with courtesy and discretion at all times.

Previous customer service and secretarial experience is essential and a substantial amount of filing will be necessary. You will also have knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel.


The ability to prioritise your work and be highly organised is paramount to this post, as is excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.

Undertake clerical and word processing duties as directed by the team.

Assist with the sending out of information within the time scale specified.

Correct and accurate use of information using the administration systems.

To maintain case notes in good condition.

To assist in the induction and training of new and relief staff, demonstrating
duties.

Assist with the booking / rearranging of meetings as directed by the team.

Deal with enquiries either on the telephone or face to face from health
professionals, colleagues and the public, under the guidance of the Community Nursing Team.

File reports / letters or relevant information following relevant protocols.

Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail and distribute accordingly.

Undertake such miscellaneous clerical duties as necessary e.g. photocopying, ordering stationary etc.

To undergo any training relevant to the job role.


To assist in the collection of information in connection with Community Nursing by ensuring up to date and accurate patient information is available.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
