    Description

    About LSBC

The London School of Business and Computing (LSBC) is a dynamic and fast-growing higher education provider offering programmes in Business, Computing, and English Language. Our institution provides high-quality education that aligns with national and international standards. We are an approved Pearson centre and are preparing to obtain British Council Accreditation for our English provision.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Academic Manager (English) to oversee our English Language programmes and lead the institution through the British Council Accreditation process. You must have direct experience in managing British Council Accreditation, along with strong academic leadership, curriculum oversight, and quality assurance capabilities. This is a strategic, yet hands-on position designed for an individual with a deep operational understanding of ELT and compliance within the UK education sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Lead and manage the English Language department at LSBC, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student support.

    · Take full responsibility for the British Council Accreditation journey – including internal audits, policy development, and inspection readiness.

    · Align delivery and documentation with Pearson's academic and quality assurance standards.

    · Oversee curriculum implementation, assessment, and scheduling.

    · Provide teacher training, observation, mentoring, and ongoing CPD.

    · Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and academic practices in line with British Council and Pearson requirements.

    · Work closely with senior leadership, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure institutional compliance and continuous improvement.

    · Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews related to English Language delivery.

    Essential Requirements

    · Proven track record of successfully managing or securing British Council Accreditation.

    · Recognised Level 7 teacher training qualification (e.g., DELTA, DipTESOL, or equivalent).

    · Managerial experience in an academic setting – preferably in a private college or Pearson-accredited institution.

    · Deep understanding of UK ELT regulations, inspection frameworks, and compliance processes.

    · Experience with Pearson academic operations (e.g., internal verification, standardisation, programme delivery, assessment processes).

    · Strong leadership, communication, and staff development skills.

    · Right to work in the UK.

    Desirable

    · Experience working in a Pearson-approved centre.

    · Familiarity with Ofsted, QAA, or ASIC frameworks.

    · Experience in private higher education or international student recruitment.

    Working Pattern

    · Part-time contract (approx. 2–3 days per week), with flexible working days.

    · Potential for increased hours post-accreditation or depending on institutional growth.

    Salary: £30,000 pro rata

    How to Apply

Submit your CV and a tailored cover letter via Indeed or directly to LSBC, clearly outlining your experience with British Council Accreditation, Pearson compliance, and your suitability for academic leadership. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: £30,000.00-£30,001.00 per year

    Expected hours: 20 per week
