Job description:


Planning Support Officer apprenticeship (1 role)


Supporting the work of 11 Town Planners who are engaged at a site specific and strategic policy level on DfE's capital delivery programmes for new and replacement schools and colleges.


Typical role responsibilities will include:
- data recording and analysis to inform resourcing and demonstrate outcomes.
- preparing presentation material for internal and external audiences.
- finance and invoicing co-ordination for panel consultants and lawyers.
- secretariat function for partner and stakeholder meetings.
- co-ordinating a work experience programme for students as part of our role as an accredited RTPI Learning Partner.


Property Support Officer apprenticeship (1 role)


The Free Schools Capital Property Services Team are a team of qualified and experienced surveyors and property professionals who are responsible for several property-related services, the most important of which being the negotiation and securing of non-commercial sites for new schools.


As the Property Support Officer for the team, the postholder will work to pull together and report information on behalf of the team, as well as co-ordinating team meetings, supporting in responding to enquiries and correspondence and administering the payments of leases to both commercial and non-commercial landlords on existing school sites.

Data Analysis

  • Coordinate, collect and analyse key information to support operational and strategic work of the Property Services Team, ensuring all information is up to date.
  • Work with teams on analysing data and trends to help contribute to the successful monitoring of the free schools capital programme.
  • Quality checks of key documents (data/financial information), holding senior colleagues to account, prior to submission for clearance.
  • Previous Microsoft Office experience desirable particularly Excel.
Management Information

  • Lead on ensuring that management information is accurate for the Property Services Team.
  • Work with the Project Management Office to develop reports to ensure that management information requested by Regional Heads and team leaders can be obtained easily.
  • Administer and maintain a record of lease payments made on school sites to both private and public landlords. Respond to enquiries and correspondence relating to these payments.
Secretariat

  • Coordination of meetings, preparing information updates, taking minutes and reporting progress back to the programme management office.
Communications

  • Support the Property Services Team with daytoday reporting, responding to key commissions, providing accurate information to correspondence and drafting of correspondence as and when required.
  • Support the team in responding to Freedom of Information requests, including collating and quality assuring programme information.
  • Engage proactively and constructively with a wide range of high profile internal and external stakeholders, including legal, educational and financial experts, local authorities, and large academy sponsors.
