Start People are recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Assistant for our client in Peterlee.

Lovely working environment, you will be joining a business that is rapidly expanding due to continued growth.

Working Monday to Thursday 7am to 4:30pm and Friday 7am to 11am

This position will be responsible for supporting the purchasing department in all aspects of procurement.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with purchasing and sourcing of materials, supplies, and equipment
  • Negotiate prices and contracts with vendors
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed
  • Coordinate logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Assist with ecommerce platforms and online sales
  • Support production planning by ensuring timely delivery of materials
  • Work closely with supply chain management to ensure timely delivery of goods

Qualifications:

  • Business administration, or related field preferred
  • 12 years of experience in purchasing or related field
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to analyze pricing data
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
