Role Context


This is a key role, responsible for facilitating the development of working software and helps the delivery team in successful business/customer outcomes.

The Delivery Lead will ensure the successful delivery of the Phoenix Group Asset Management vision, to deliver a World Class Asset Management function with a data driven culture at its core, ensuring that business decisions are supported by timely and trusted data insights.


Reporting into the Delivery Manager via line management and Scrum of Scrums, the Delivery Lead facilitates the development of working software and helps the delivery team in successful business/customer outcomes.

The Scrum Master is primarily responsible for the day to day delivery of one or two delivery teams. They will follow the defined frameworks as laid out by the Senior Leaders of the team.

Their primary responsibility is to deliver on the definition of done and remove blockers/impediments faced by the team on a day to day basis.

The Delivery Lead will work collaboratively with the team to maximise value. They are responsible for ensuring the framework is understood, enacted upon and iterated where relevant.

The Delivery Lead executes the framework ensuring that the Team follows agile practices, rules in line with recognised controls within the Enterprise.


To this end, whilst not a technical role by its nature, it is critical that the incumbent understands the perceived do's and don'ts of regulatory behaviour and is at the core of everything that is undertaken in the team structures.

The Delivery Lead utilises the experience of the Delivery Manager and Senior Engineers to facilitate the required outcomes.


This role is responsible for the successful delivery of the Phoenix Group Asset Management vision, to deliver a World Class Asset Management function with a data driven culture at its core.; ensuring that business decisions are supported by timely and trusted data insights.


Key responsibilities

Aligns with the vision and strategy for the Chief Investment Officer

  • Aligned to AM Cloud first vision, works with appropriate governance forums to deliver the right quality of outcome within the timeframe, based on business and technology needs, to solve critical customer needs.
  • Facilitate delivery artefact and outcomes: Sprint Planning; Daily Scrum; Sprint Review; Sprint Retrospective; Product Backlog Refinement; Product Backlog; Sprint Backlog; Definition of Done (as required/directed by the Delivery Lead).

Day to Day Activities

  • Facilitate meetings (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective)
  • Providing guidance and counsel to team members
  • Estimating and planning for future sprints
  • Remove/escalate obstacles
  • Enforcing and iterating rules, processes and control behaviours

Supporting the Team

  • Removing impediments to the Delivery Team's progress;
  • Ensure adherence to the terms of the 'Definition of Done'

Enterprise stakeholder management and communication

  • Builds and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The Delivery Lead manages internal relationships across the Business, Customers, Delivery Team, Product Owner/s, Other Delivery Leads, Project Managers.
  • Engages and influences senior leadership across the organization to drive adoption of Agile methodologies

What we're looking for

Qualifications / Certifications

  • Agile Practitioner
  • Scrum Certification e.g. Professional Scrum Master I (beneficial)
