    Infrastructure Specialist Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Specialist to join our London-based insurance firm on a permanent basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid model, with a mix of office and remote work.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Manage, build, support, and maintain all servers within the environment.
    • Plan, design, develop, and deploy new services, as well as enhance existing ones.
    • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, developing strategies for improvement.
    • Accountability for systems used for monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.
    • Assist in designing and implementing long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software.
    • Maintain system availability to agreed service levels.
    • Perform maintenance checks and take action when required.

    Key Skills and Experience:

    • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and SQL Server.
    • Excellent knowledge of VMware.
    • Working knowledge of AWS and/or Azure.
    • Previous experience with backup/restore packages.
    • Advantageous working knowledge of DevOps principles and technologies, such as Terraform and Ansible, as well as scripting languages like YAML, Python, or PowerShell.
    • Ability to work independently and take ownership of issues.
    • Collaboration with project teams on key IT projects.
