Forth Ports are delighted to announce an opportunity to join our Port of Leith team as a Facilities Management Apprentice.

We're on the lookout for the next generation of innovative minds to embark on an exciting journey through our three-year apprenticeship programme.

This role in Facilities Management will focus on the operation and maintenance of building systems and services.

About The Role

What you will learn:


You'll play a vital role in supporting the wider engineering team to assist in various Facilities Management role including in the planning and execution of routine maintenance tasks, participating in regular inspections of buildings and facilities to identify any maintenance or repair needs and be involved in health & safety compliance.

As following safety protocols and procedures is paramount in any engineering environment, you'll receive training on safety practices and be expected to adhere to them at all times.

By the end of the programme, you'll emerge as a fully trained Facilities Management professional ready to excel in your career.

What are we looking for?

  • You will have a head start if you have already completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field
  • You must be comfortable working in an outdoors environment in all weathers, at height and in confined spaces, always demonstrating a full commitment to your health and safety responsibilities.
  • We do require all individuals who work at our port to be a minimum 18 years of age (by Aug 2024)
  • Full UK working rights
  • UK driving licence preferred
