This is an exciting time to be joining Digital and Data Services at Camden, and this is the most senior design role within our newly formed Digital Products and Services team.

The role

The
Experience Lead will set the standard for product and content design at Camden alongside the user research that informs all our work.

With a team of nine reporting into this role, this role will be hands-on and play a leading role in introducing design thinking to our work at Camden, leading the development and roll out of our design system, and addressing the diverse needs of the citizens of Camden.

You will undertake all duties with due regard to the provisions of health and safety regulations and legislation, Data Protection/GDPR, the Council's Equal Opportunities and Customer Care policies.

About You
You are a passionate experience lead, with broad experience and great judgment on inclusive, accessible design processes and standards.

You will have extensive experience of managing designers and working with design systems alongside developers and thoroughly understanding the user needs that inform ongoing development of standards and templates.

You will have proven expertise in use of software packages and platforms such as Azure, Figma and Photoshop with demonstratable experience of building A/AA compliant products.

Alongside your leadership and mentoring skills, you will have great judgment and insight from your own practical design work which will have included products developed across platforms for diverse audiences.

Your work has been informed by thorough understanding of user needs, you have either led or worked closely with user researchers in past roles and you value their expertise in helping you understand the potential outcomes and impact of your team's work.

You will be able to communicate at all levels within an organisation as well as publicly to diverse audiences to explain design thinking and decisions, championing the team's work and approaches.
