Description
To attend trade fairs, shows and demonstrations to research new product lines and suppliers, to check catalogues; to keep up with market trends and chooses products/services; to assesses budgetary limitations and customer requirements and decides on quantity, type, range and quality of goods or services to be bought; to assesses bids from suppliers; to find suppliers and negotiate prices; to help negotiate contract with supplier and specify details of goods or services required; to look at ways to improve supply network and present new ideas to senior management team;to ensure that delivered items comply with order; to monitors quality of incoming goods and to return unsatisfactory or faulty items to monitor performance and make sure targets are met; to supervise clerical, administrative and warehouse distribution staff, deals with recruitment and training; to work closely with merchandisers who allocate stock and develop sales forecasts; to maintain records and prepare reports as necessary.
