Why this job matters:

Our global government customers expect the highest security assurances for all cryptography that forms part of their BT delivered goods and services. This role therefore forms an integral part of the BT GSS Cryptography processes, demonstrating full security life cycle management for cryptography, considering confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Deputising for the GSS Crypto Custodian, there is both accountabilities, but also development within this role, being able to make appropriate decisions at the right times.
The protection of asset and information is a critical security control, and therefore responsibilities for the role extends into the oversight of security, and security incident management for BT GSS at various sites.

What you'll do:

Deputising as the BT GSS Crypto Custodian you will be responsible for all cryptographic items, ensuring all accounting, handling and audit meet customer requirements and cryptographic policies.
Coordinate all BT GSS Crypto hub movements, in conjunction with customer requirements and authority policies issues and returns.
Work closely with customer custodians and stakeholders, as well as UK Crypto Authorities to ensure BT meets its wider security obligations for crypto management.
Provision crypto and ACCSEC approvals, training and advice for crypto holders and handlers
Development and the running of crypto audit schedules, with followup management for any followup or remediation plans.
Support and deputise for the GSS Crypto, Incident & Asset Manager, all aspects of Security Incident lifecycle Management, and security oversight for BT GSS asset management.

What you'll bring:

Experienced in UK Government Crypto processes and handling, ideally with custodian background.
Good stakeholder management skills.
Experience in UK Government Security Frameworks, ideally architecture patterns, technical standards etc.
A security professional with an industry track record in technical & cyber security.
Experience of working across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
Experience in articulating/implementing a strategic vision and translating into practical action and execution.
Strong critical reasoning skills for getting to heart of topics and identifying key themes and actions.

You may also have:

A recognised Industry Security Qualifications or membership of a cyber security accredited body e.g. Associate or Full Member of CIISec.
Coaching working across multiple project teams as a security consultant.
