Job Description:
AECOM is recruiting for an individual with mechanical engineering and installation/construction experience to support our long-held NEC ECC Supervisor Framework with Welsh Water.
You will be working with our multi-disciplinary team of Engineers and Supervisors to provide quality assurance across the entirety of Welsh Water's Capital Delivery programme.
Projects include the construction and upgrade of water and wastewater treatment plants, water and sewerage networks, and reservoir and dam infrastructure.
You will have a keen interest in assuring the highest quality workmanship, from design through to handover.You will:
- Have a proactive engagement on schemes to aid prevention, management and mitigation of quality issues including defects.
- Monitor the construction and installation of the works to confirm that it is compliant with the Works Information.
- Liaise with all project parties including Contractor, Welsh Water Project Manager and Welsh Water Operations teams to aid successful delivery of the schemes.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the project team to maintain AECOM's high standards of service.
- Work with AECOM and Welsh Water colleagues to provide meaningful knowledgesharing and maximise the impact of 'lessons learnt'.
- Prepare reports regarding site activities and provision of data relating to delivered quality.
- Be a senior technical resource that may serve as technical advisor for the team.
- Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develop, study and design procedures to facilitate highquality costeffective work by others.
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
We are looking for you to:
- Have relevant experience of working as a NEC Supervisor, Resident Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar within a regulated-industry environment, preferably the water industry.
- Hold demonstrable experience of overseeing or reviewing the quality of fabricated and installed elements of work.
- Have an understand of constructability and operability requirements within design.
- Proven experience of developing good working relationship with colleagues, clients, contractors, key stakeholders and the supply chain.
- Have the ability to deliver project work to programme, cost and quality requirements.
- Have the ability to take full responsibility for producing, checking and approving technical deliverables e.g. inspection reports.
- Hold an enthusiastic and a collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating the relevant behaviours and work ethos to solve client and project problems.
- Value and contribute to a strong Health and Safety culture.
- Work proactively with the client and site teams to close out defects and share lessons learned with the wider team.
