About the Role:
Are you a meticulous and experienced welding professional with a keen eye for detail? Jefferis engineering is on the lookout for a dedicated Welding and Dimensional QC Inspector/Lead to join our dynamic team.
In this crucial role, you will play an integral part in ensuring our workshop operations meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough preweld visual fitup and postweld inspections to ensure precision and compliance with drawings and procedures.
- Identify and document any rework or repairs necessary.
- Collaborate with a small quality team, supporting trainee QC personnel, and reporting to the QA/QC Manager.
- Ensure that all welding work is accordance to weld map and procedure.
- Address weldingrelated queries, including weld procedures and work scopes.
- Perform workshopbased inspections with a focus on welding and fabrication.
- Guide and instruct the production team on qualityrelated matters.
- Participate in daily production meetings, providing valuable input from the Quality Team.
- Review supplier material certificates for compliance with specifications and standards.
- Assist with qualityrelated correspondence with customers and their representatives.
- Understand technical requirements for work packages and liaise with management and project teams during kickoff meetings.
- Ensure compliance with company QHSE policies during qualityrelated surveillances or inspections.
- Perform and document dimensional inspections of fabrications
- Coordinate onsite/offsite quality activities in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Collaborate with the production Manager to discuss and coordinate QA/QC activities, ensuring timely involvement of thirdparty inspectors.
- Support the project team in purchasing specific goods for ongoing projects.
- Familiarize yourself with client requirements and compile quality documentation packages for review and submission.
- Be qualified to carry out NDT Welding inspections (Visual, MPI,Dye pen and UT
- PCN/CSWIP)
- Be able to produce WPS's
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inspections.
Essential Requirements:
- Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Qualified to CSWIP 3.1 minimum.
- Extensive experience in fabrication and welding (minimum City and Guilds Fabrication and Welding qualification or equivalent).
- Familiarity with all welding processes and structural materials.
