SRL works in partnership with their clients, across the UK and internationally, to identify the most cost-effective and practical ways to handle acoustics, noise, vibration and air quality issues, often on high-profile national projects.

They are currently looking for Monitoring and Laboratory apprentice to join their team.


Main Duties:


  • Travelling to the customers sites
  • Working in the onsite Laboratory
  • Installing and removing monitoring equipment from site.
  • Preparing and calibrating monitoring and Laboratory equipment
  • Completing proposals and reporting
  • Project management
  • Checking the data

The role also includes:


  • Servicing and repairing equipment
  • Testing new systems and services
  • Developing customer information
  • Improving efficiency of monitoring officebased duties
  • Telephoning customers
  • Filing equipment and test records
  • Develop business plans for new monitoring services
  • Compile client development plans
Entry requirements

GCSE Maths and English grades 5 or above - Essential.

Training to be provided

  • The learner will be studying the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship standard qualification
  • Day release to West Suffolk College
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held
Things to consider


Age 18+, full driving license preferred - will need to be able to get to head office (Little Waldingfield, not on a bus route), will need to be trained to drive fork-lift and will be insured on company van to visit sites.

The opportunity to progress to a Lab Engineer, Senior Engineer, Manager/Team Leader.

Hours per week 37.5
Working week Monday - Friday, between 9am and 5:30pm
Apprenticeship standard Maintenance and operations engineering technician (Level 3)
