An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Technical Surveillance Officer. Applications are invited from persons who would relish this hands-on technical role.

You will be required to undertake tasks including building bespoke electronic solutions and installing electrical equipment, advising on and installing a wide range of CCTV equipment.

IT also plays a key role in the work of the Technical Support Unit. This can include, but is not restricted to use of; Microsoft packages, Linux & Cisco etc.

Internet Protocol skills and/or qualifications such as Cisco CCNA are desirable, as is Electrical / Electronic experience and/or qualifications such as City and Guilds / HNC.

A broad experience of (or qualifications in) IT such as Microsoft MCSE will also be required.

Experience with a range of CCTV equipment such as Analogue and Internet Protocol (IP) cameras would be desirable.

Taking ownership of projects particularly in relation to IT and/or Electrical / Electronic Solutions

Being innovative and open-minded with fresh ideas and bespoke builds, with the ability to present & demonstrate the solution using effective written and verbal communication.

Having a collaborative approach to work. Particularly working well as part of a small team with a definite end goal.

A full driving licence is also essential.

This opportunity would suit a highly-motivated, practical and dynamic individual who can bring their wide experience and can-do attitude to this hands-on role.

Successful applicants for this role will be defined as a; Static Worker - Works solely from one office within an Essex office-based team.

Some travel may be required to other police or off-site locations to discharge duty
