Leeds City Council is transforming local public services by putting technology at the heart of the organisation.


The Integrated Digital Service works across Leeds City Council and the Integrated Care Board (Leeds) - opening up a number of exciting prospects to work within the health and care sector and local authority.

The Integrated Digital Service is improving how services are delivered, using user research to inform technology solutions that are accessible, easy to use and reliable.

We are innovating and changing services by investing in automation through technologies such as power platform and RPA.

We're looking for Lead Interaction Designers who will take a key role in developing and leading the service design community across Leeds City Council and the Integrated Care Board and the city organisations as directed by the Head of Digital Change.

Directly leading the interaction design of our most complex, risky, and interdependent new digital services, working in the open with the user at the centre of all you do, including working across multiple teams.


You will have the experience and ability to:

  • Guide design decisions in complex service areas, helping stakeholder see opportunities and leading process change and plotting a path forward
  • Understand technical complexity and risks, run collaborative design activities, influence senior leaders and others.
  • Help services build and deliver on transformation vision
  • Prototype in different ways: on paper, in static code or in conversation
