Salary:
£90 - £120 per day dependant on experience

PWD Connect are recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work in our Secondary schools in the Cannock area. The roles available are on a day to day, short term and long term basis.


Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Management: Supervise and manage student behaviour in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a positive and productive learning atmosphere.

Delivering Pre-Set Work: Facilitate the delivery of pre-prepared lesson plans and materials provided by absent teachers, keeping students engaged and on task.

Maintaining Discipline: Enforce school policies and disciplinary procedures as needed, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility among students.

Supporting Learning: Provide support and guidance to students as they complete assigned tasks, answering questions and offering assistance as necessary.

Assessment and Reporting: Assist in assessing student work and providing feedback to regular teachers, helping to monitor student progress.

Attendance Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of student attendance during cover periods, reporting any issues or concerns to relevant staff.

Communication: Maintain effective communication with regular teaching staff, administrators, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and behaviour.

Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to the role of a Cover Supervisor.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with secondary school students in an educational setting is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the school.
  • Resilience and patience when working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • A commitment to upholding the values and ethos of the school community.
