About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Lead to join our growing team in Derby.
As a Digital Lead you will:
Lead the implementation of BIM Level and Digital Design and Construction standards, policies and procedures, following company/TEAM2100/Environment Agency/Government standards and procedures relating to Digital gearedtowards to deliver a successful Digital project.
Support Balfour Beatty Group (BBG) in the creation, development and implementation of the Balfour Beatty Digital Strategy:- Developing the Task Information DeliveryPlan (TIDP) and ensuring the availability of competent resources to execute it
- Reviewing and approving the information produced by the Task Team against the task brief
- Assigning the appropriate status (suitability) of the information shared by the Task Team
- Consult Employers Representative on capturing any specific standards, methods and /or procedures required by the client
- Work collaboratively with the Design/Construction Lead on defining the Volume Strategy and assigning the appropriate Level of definition
- Documenting and validating the Information Requirements with the Environment Agencies EIR
- Authorising the Project Information Model on behalf of Balfour Beatty's Subcontractors
- Identifying and escalating risks associated to the delivery of the Project Information Model
- Ensuring that the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) is managed and maintained in accordance with the procedures
- Liaise with Consultants and Subcontractors to ascertain their BIM capability
- Manage the integration of incoming models from design teams and subcontractors, including structure, architecture with our MEP models
- Monitor and report against progress, status and quality of model development in line with the MDPT
- Develop from 2D drawings &; sketches BIM models for the design, estimating, and planning teams.
- Where required, produce models for 3D, 4D and 5D exercises and produce relevant animations, images and reports from the models
- Develop and manage the Revit to offsite manufacture drawing process
- Communicating the benefitsof BIM to internal and external Project Teams
- Interfacing with third parties to identify and resolve issues
- Managing Field technologies including Autodesk BIM 360
- Managing project technology and the variousdigital construction Apps used on site
- Support our IT department in implementing IT on site
- Assisting in implementing and development of BIM procedures.
- Provide support, as required to meet the project & business requirements.

What you'll be doing
The BIM Manager will educate people, develop / implement process and use technology during stages - 6 and also assist with developing specific project models to asset rich as-built status for the future operations and maintenance when the scheme is handed over to the maintainer:
- Engage early with all Stakeholders to develop the projects Digital Strategy, Digital Execution Plan and Client goals
- Work with the Project Team to deliver the project Digital Strategy, Digital Execution Plan and client's goals. Engage early with all Stakeholders via the Projects Common Data Environment
- Working with the Project Team to implement processes/culture/technology which can be used during the Construction phase during the Detailed Design Phase of the scheme before construction and limiting/excluding potential conflicts before reaching site
- Working with the Project Team and Supply Chain members for the use and development of the Project Information Model (PIM) and Non Graphical content
- Working with the Project Team to implement processes/culture/technology so that Programme can be linked to the Detailed Design Model i.e. 4D for Construction and own/support
- Working with the Project Team to implement processes/culture/technology so that costs can be linked to the Model i.e. 5D for Construction and own/support
- Working with the Project Team to implement processes/culture/technology so that an As Built model is created for Handover and Commissioning and own/support
- Working with the Project Team to implement processes/culture/technology so that Asset Information/data can be linked to the model producing a 6D Model for Handover and Commissioning and own/support
- Working with the Project Team to implement processes/culture/technology for Digital Site Management Techniques / mobile technology
- Research, Develop, Implement, Review new ways of working which will benefit the project by increasing efficiency, reducing cost, improve quality, sustainability and aiming for Zero Harm
- Reports / Innovation Case Studies created on a weekly/monthly based which is shared with line Management to be shared around the business and record benefits
