The University of Lincoln is one of the most dynamic young universities in the UK.

Situated in the centre of a beautiful cathedral city, our core mission is 'transforming lives and communities, enabling a prosperous region in an inter-connected world'.

The College of Health and Science, to come into existence as from August 2023, is comprised of the School of Chemistry, School of Computer Science, School of Engineering, School of Health and Social Care, School of Life and Environmental Sciences, School of Maths and Physics, Lincoln Medical School, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Psychology, the School of Sport & Exercise Science, the Science Foundation Centre, the National Centre for Food Manufacturing, the Lincoln Institute for Agri-Food Technology, the Lincoln International Institute for Rural Health, the Lincoln Clinical Trials Unit and several other research centres.

The College employs approximately 740 academic, 120 professional service staff and 55 technical staff, with approx. 6520 undergraduate, 1500 taught postgraduate students and 390 postgraduate research students.

The newly created College of Health and Science combines the University's ongoing focus on excellence in STEM research and education with the University's increasingly comprehensive commitment to medical and health education, training, research, and evaluation.

The mission of the College is to be a community of international excellence built upon foundations of intellectual curiosity, an innovative student experience, impactful and world-leading research, professional training and the instilling of graduate skills, excellent facilities, and strong and collaborative engagement with external and international partners.

The post of the College Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor (DPVC) is an exciting opportunity to help shape the new College in a pivotal leadership position at an important period in the development of the University.

The post of the DPVC is to support the Pro Vice Chancellor in providing strategic leadership and operational executive management to the College Leadership Team and the wider College in meeting its objectives and key performance indicators.

In particular, the DPVC working with, and under the leadership of the Pro Vice Chancellor, will have overall responsibility for the College's strategic vision around, and implementation of its plans on: (i) knowledge exchange, industrial partnerships and innovation (including licensing); (ii) external income generation, including educational contracts and consultancy; (iii) building synergies, innovation and new collaborations within and between the health and science fields; and (iv), working closely with the College Director of Research, the College's strategic priorities on research excellence, capacity and income generation.

The DPVC will have general responsibility for external income KPIs, and provide proactive leadership and engagement on the College's civic engagement strategy and activities.

The DPVC will have line management responsibilities for the College Director of Research, directors of key research institutes, and other key stakeholders in the College (including the College's Global and Distinguished Professors).

Interviews will be in person on 28 September 2023 at our Brayford Campus.
