Description

Reporting to the Head of Business Assurance, the Business Assurance Team Leader will lead the Business Assurance Team in the oversight of the delivery of the business' control framework, ensuring that all key daily, weekly, and monthly activities take placeto the specified quality and within prescribed timescales.

Carefully balancing Risk, Compliance and business priorities, the Business Assurance Team Leader will work with the team and liaise at all levels throughout the group to develop and carry out operational control processes and reporting to provide maximum assurancewith the lowest level of impact on the effective performance of business units.

In addition, and independently of 2nd line Compliance, the Business Assurance Team Leader will work with the Head of Business Assurance Manager to monitor and report on the effectiveness of operational, regulatory and risk controls within the group.


RESPONSIBILITIES
The Team Leader's responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • to monitor and report on the effectiveness of operational, regulatory and risk control framework within the group, as well as client data with a particular focus on asset management and investment operations
- to provide regulatory and risk, guidance, and support on relevant projects within the group relating to operational areas
- to provide guidance and support to managers in relation to business assurance matters including implementing appropriate 1st line controls.
- to provide oversight and control of company client facing documents, maintaining a register of documentation, ownership of content and ensuring regular review, update, and communication to the business in relation to changes.

  • To ensure the quality of data held within core systems by overseeing the completion of regular quality checks and any requisite remediation

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role with particular focus on operational controls
- excellent literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, especially with MS Office (Excel and Word at least to an intermediate level)
- able to present complex information, both in writing and verbally
- the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- strong organisational and administrative skills, with high attention to detail
- the ability to be self-motivated and manage own workload to deadlines
