Description
Looking for a position where you can build out the procurement function?

Experience in developing procurement systems, processes and SOP'?

Confident and competent in working with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external?

I'm very happy to bring you a unique position within procurement.

My client is a successful manufacturing business within the medical device and pharmaceutical sectors who have been growing in a sustainable way for an extended period of time.

As part oftheir continuous improvement processes, they are now looking to start to build out their procurement team by recruiting a Procurement Specialist.

Distributing globally, my client with a turnover last year in excess of £50 million, are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join the business with the purpose of centralising this function in a newly created role.

Currently the procurementprocesses are managed within multiple functions across the business but there is a preference, and also with continued growth in mind, to have these managed from one position.

The suitable person for this position will be someone that has 5+ years procurement experience and that can bring elements of best practice with them from previous experience.

Key deliverables for this role:

  • Put supplier agreements in place or update where required
  • Build and expand on relationships with the existing supply chain
  • Put metrics in place track supplier performances
  • Feedback poor performance or nonconformance to suppliers
  • Work with R&D on new products and their requirements in terms of stock and lead times
  • Ensure there are sufficient raw materials in stock at all times
  • Utilise the company systems to best effect to drive efficiencies
  • Make data and reporting available where needed

A USP for this business is their fast delivery times, including on bespoke orders and this will be driven by having the right levels of the right stock in place at all times.

Attributes needed to succeed:

  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Tenacious
  • Excellent at relationship building
  • Be happy with travelling within both Europe and Internationally (estimated to be 20% 25% of the role)
  • Experience within a regulated industry would be preferable although not essential

In return, my client is offering a market competitive salary along with excellent future growth potential including potential to progress into a Procurement Manager role while building out the team further leading to line manager responsibilities.
