We're The Switch (Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership), a pioneering charity driving change within education to empower children and young people to dream big and achieve their aspirations.


With more than 30 years of experience behind us, we're focused and committed to helping our local East London community boost the career options for young people and give every child a bright and promising future.


We pair trained business volunteers, who work in The City or Canary Wharf, with pupils in Tower Hamlets primary schools, to boost students' literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge of the world of work.


We are currently seeking a Project Lead, to join us on a full-time basis for a nine month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension.

The Role


As a Project Lead, you will oversee the delivery of our project that pairs primary-aged pupils in the Tower Hamlets area with Reading, Numeracy and Writing Partners from The City or Canary Wharf.


Acting as the point of contact for schools and businesses, you will pair primary-aged pupils with professionals and facilitate online training and in person inductions for the partners.


Supporting the Senior Project Manager, you'll design and deliver weekly resources for Number Partners and attend occasional Reading and Number sessions to troubleshoot any issues.


Additionally, you will:


  • Record all training and volunteering on our CRM system
  • Facilitate office visits and implement good safeguarding practice there
About You


To be considered as a Project Lead, you will need:

  • Experience of managing a project, programme or event with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working with primaryaged pupils and schools
  • Experience managing volunteers and training adults
  • Experience in Corporate Social Responsibility and/or working with businesses such as banks and law firms
  • Awareness of the Key Stage Two curriculum
  • Knowledge of volunteering good practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong communication skills
An enhanced DBS clearance is also essential. This can be undertaken as soon as you are in post.
