Project Worker

Whitstable Road, Canterbury

£12.09

37.5 hours per week - shifts on a rota basis, Monday to Sunday, including public holidays

We are looking for an experienced Project Worker with passion and drive to join our team and provide support for our young people at Whitstable Road.

East Kent Young People Supported Housing has schemes across Canterbury, Swale and Thanet.

Our supported living service provides accommodation and support for those who are aged 16 to 25 and homeless or at risk of homelessness, including children in care and care leavers.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Assessing the needs of our residents by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Regular key working and support planning to ensure relevant support is provided to maximise our residents' potential and level of independence
  • Offering housingrelated support
  • Liaising with external support links to improve our residents' confidence and health and wellbeing
  • Working with statutory and nonstatutory agencies on behalf of the residents, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required

Skills and experiences:


  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of working with partner agencies and liaising with social care
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
