Job Title:
CNC Programmer/Operator


Responsible To:
RD&I Leader


Post Holders Deputy:
Nominated Design Engineer


Main Purpose of Role:


Develop accurate flat patterns, bending geometry and write programs in a way that will maximize the life of tools and maintain the appearance of the parts being produced.


Key Tasks:

Assist with Programming and Setting Roll bending machines.

Set up and operate LVD punch/press when required performing quality checks throughout the process of producing parts.

Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of machines and tools.

Communicate and co-ordinate design options with relevant stakeholders, colleagues and clients using sketches, models, detailed drawings and technical reports/specifications.

Deliver assigned projects and agreed objectives on time and in accordance with company workflow procedures.

Provide internal and external product support when required.

Work in accordance with company management systems, policies and procedures.

Key Requirements for Role:

Prioritise and manage work load to achieve objectives and goals on time.

Work alongside other team members, key internal & external contacts to deliver projects on time.

Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite of software

Good reporting, analytical and administrative skills

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Ability to create and interpret technical product documentation, geometric product specification, geometric tolerance specification and engineering drawings.

Work to tight deadlines

You will actively participate in the Near Miss reporting program and other continuous improvement projects as dictated by the business.


Preferred Experience:

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Previous experience of design change procedures or product data management software

2+ years Design/Engineering experience within a production/manufacturing environment

Sheet metal part manufacturing and/or construction methods.

Have the ability to understand, edit and write programs.
