We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of FRTB - Model Risk Management


In this role, you will:

  • Be an FRTB SME with knowledge in FRTB IMA and have the ability to provide advice and guidance to Risk and Control owners while also effectively challenging specific matters;
  • Have a quantitative and analytical background in order to independently validate and challenge and develop new IMA models in line with new standards that are implemented;
  • Manage the implementation of the model risk framework across entities/countries which includes, risk appetite, risk taxonomy and risk control library strategy framework, including setting policy, standards and guidelines for managing model risks and provision of advice and guidance to support those policies; and
  • Review and challenge of the first line of defence model risk activities to provide assurance to the Model Risk Steward.
  • Work and liaise closely with the first line of defence 1st line of defence (1LOD) to mitigate, monitor or report any Model Risks and have knowledge of different regulations across different regions such as, PRA, HKMA and ECB;
  • Work closely with the Global Model Risk Team to promote and facilitate the roll out and embedding of the Model Risk Policy and model risk standards and key controls.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge on FRTB, Traded Risk and Model Risk management, governance and model development/validation;
  • Depth of experience in stakeholder management and regulator liaising;
  • Proven ability to develop strong networks with key stakeholders at all points in a matrix structure, creating an ability to execute tasks at hand;
  • Successful at challenging the status quo to ensure transformation projects and implementation of new frameworks are completed successfully;
  • Hold programming language such as, Python, C++, R or VBA.


The base location for this role is: London with a view of being in the office 2-3 days a week.
