Willow Tree Family Farm are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individuals to join our animal care team.

applicants must be knowledgeable and understand the working practices of a working farm, visitor attraction and the legislative requirements of a farm operation

applicants must have worked within the industry and be competent to display their knowledge and understanding at interview

all applicants must hold a clear DBS check (company will complete prior to start)

Applicants with a clean driving licence will be desired due to farm machinery uses

Applicants must be available to work on all days of the week if required (applicant will be required to work a minimum of 2 weekends in each month)

This role is physically demanding and applicants must be able to handle livestock safely. the pace of work is fast moving.

the working area is 12acres to which staff are managing livestock around its entirety

expected time of work 8am till 6pm if required.

job will be on a Rota bases issued fortnightly / monthly

rate of pay is above national living wage and can vary on qualifications

job position is temporary (6month probation period) with possible permanent basis


job will:
*conducting daily animal husbandry with a range of livestock (cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, reindeers, wallabies, poultry, reptiles and more)

*completing animal movements and licencing, ear tagging, castrations, animal audits

*working closely with line management on animal welfare matters and improving standards whilst developing new working practices at the site.

*conducting routine health checks on livestock and issuing medical treatment when required

*knowledge and understanding of exotic animals

*be confident to work with children and adults on urban farming including public speaking

  • Complete daily animal talks to visitors along with animal educational encounters.
  • From time to time work offsite with our livestock at set locations when required.

Salary:
£11.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
