How will you make an impact?
As a result of continued growth, we currently have an opportunity for an expert Warehouse Manager to join our site in Heysham.
You will become the focal point of our team, comfortable with driving our culture forward regarding our values, diversity and inclusion, whilst simultaneously leading from a Lean and continuous improvement process perspective.
What will you do?
- To lead, take ownership and responsibility for all warehouse processes, including goods in receipt of material storage, cycle stock counts, disposal of rejected and obsolete material, and inventory control.
- To build successful work environments and provide support and mentorship to your team ensuring high levels of performance.
- Champion People Management tasks for your team including, but not limited to attracting and selecting new diverse talent, onboarding and training, setting clear goals and performance expectations, providing open, timely and useful feedback, conducting appraisals and development discussions.
- Communicate all operational and business discussions through our daily Tier meeting structure within Operations. Taking full ownership of your department's safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
- Ensure all work carried out aligns with departmental procedures and the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice i.e. 5s.
- Ensure that colleagues are adequately trained, and requirements are reviewed on a regular basis.
- Be responsible for inventory and transactional accuracy inventory of total value in excess of £13M, including high value material, controlled drugs and cold / frozen product.
- Effective management and leadership of continuous improvement to drive the warehouse department forward.
- Supervise the disposal of waste / reject material and reporting used / available warehouse space by area.
- Ensure effective planning for the goods in / dispatch areas to avoid congestion in the yard / loading bays.
- Be accountable for the management of all powered mechanical handling equipment (e.g. forklift trucks) across site.
- Carry out and lead STRAP projects within the department to support growth and standard methodology projects as required.
- Coordinate annual checks, training and assessments to ensure compliance of staff/equipment/machinery.
