Description
1. Emergency lighting testing.2. Water quality management planned and reactive maintenance e.g. taking water samples,checking water temperatures, recording results.3.

Boiler house and plant room duties e.g. water testing, steam plant checks.4. Carry out basic electrical, mechanical and building works e.g. replacing lamps, repairingnurse call handsets, unblocking sinks, basic plumbing repairs, replacing ceiling tiles, simplejoinery and decoration.5.

To assist craft persons of all trades in the repair and maintenance of hospital property andequipment.6. Collection of data e.g. utility meter readings.7. Water softener plant checks including salt deliveries to the areas8.

To assist in the cleanliness and safety of hospital equipment, machinery, tools, vehicles andareas.9. To observe and abide by all safety rules and regulations taking appropriate consideration ofother hospital staff, patients and visitors.10. To ensure work is carried out in a professional manner.11. To be a responsible team member who uses initiative and is flexible to the needs of theclients.12.

To undertake training to learn new generic skills in order to fulfil the requirements of thedepartment.13. To understand working practices of the Estates Maintenance Department14. To become familiar with the operation of plant and equipment throughout the Trust.15. To carry out other duties not listed here which fall within the post holders skill set.
