Health Care Assistant in Breast Imaging

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 2 HCA, in Breast Imaging. Part time considered

We are looking for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our Breast Imaging team.

The department, based in the Rose Centre, performs breast imaging for the South West London Breast Screening Service and the St George's Symptomatic Breast Clinic.


The post holder will work along side breast imaging clinicians, chaperoning the patients and providing assistance to the clinician during breast biopsies for patient's who have or fear they may have breast cancer.


St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust hosts SWLBSS, which is one of six breast screening services in London and serves a population of over women, providing screening with mammography for women aged 50 to their 71st birthday every 3 years.

SWLBSS is co-located with the symptomatic breast service which together form the Breast Services Care Group based in The Rose Centre on Perimeter Road at St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The post holder will be required to work with a multidisciplinary team.

They should have excellent communication skills, be flexible, organised and able to work calmly in a very busy outpatient setting.

Previous experience of working in an outpatient setting is desirable but not essential.
