My client are an award-winning developer, delivering luxury residential accommodation UK wide who currently have a requirement for a Principal Structural Engineer to join their Technical team.

The company are a fast-growing developer that design and build luxury living accommodation for the retirement sector.

As a key member in the Technical & Engineering team you will work closely with their in-house Land, Planning Architectural and Civil/StructuralEngineering teams to deliver complex developments.

Principal Structural Engineer
Working closely with the Technical Director your key accountabilities will include:
" Acting as a Lead Project Engineer with mínimal supervision
" Collaborating with the multi-disciplined design team to steer the evolving designs
" Producing conceptual and detailed design in masonry, concrete, steel and timber
" Temporary works design
" Providing structural packages using Revit for costing and tendering along with responding to associated queries
" Responding to site queries and visiting site for structural inspections as required.
" Liaising with the 'in house' construction team to ensure cost effective solutions and practical construction sequence.
" Undertaking Technical Design Reviews of colleague's projects
" Complying with designer's duties under the CDM Regulations
" Mentor and support Junior Technologists to ensure their continual professional development

Skills and experience required:
" A registered Chartered Engineer (CEng)
" A minimum BEng (Hons) in Civil / Structural Engineering (or equivalent), accompanied by a minimum of 6 years proven post-qualification experience in Structural Engineering
" Good knowledge of structural detailing and construction techniques
" Working knowledge of relevant UK and European codes of practice
" Good experience of using AutoCAD and Revit software
" IT literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
" A strong technical ability and commercial awareness
" Superb organisational and time management skills
" Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
" Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst using own initiative to work independently
