- We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Officer within the Asset Performance Team in Suffolk. Data drives all we do in Asset Performance and accurate data is a vital component of effective asset management.
In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our asset database for our flood risk management assets.
You will feed into other teams and our national team to ensure all data requests are understood and implemented within the team.
Within the role you will be responsible for supporting our internal and contracted Asset Inspectors, programme management as well as managing our projects and routine maintenance bids.
You will support a large and experienced team and engage with other Environment Agency teams to manage our data. This role will be predominantly desk based with the opportunity to go out on site when appropriate.Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.
You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.
This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team- The Data Lead role is within the Asset Performance in Suffolk which forms part of the Operations department.
Asset Performance teams are asset managers, involved in the inspection, maintenance, fixing, decision making, health and safety and data of our flood risk assets.
The Data Lead role is key and will ensure the accuracy of our data sets. This role will also work with other data leads in the area.- Experience/skills required
- Essential:
- Keen eye for detail
- Experience of handling and understanding large datasets
- Good level of computer skills, including MS Packages and willing to learn new software.
- Able to work independently, using your own initiative to plan your time and priorities, but also be a team player, able to communicate and discuss findings with the team.
- Willing to learn new skills and train others.
- Flood risk asset management knowledge, but training will be provided.
- Knowledge and experience in managing a program
