The Opportunity
Jaguar Land Rover has opportunities for high calibre and experienced Maintenance supervisors to join our Maintenance team. This team supports current & future powertrains for the Jaguar Land Rover range of vehicles.

You will be responsible for delivering Reliability and Maintainability systems and processes for both recurring manufacture and new, technologically advanced propulsion systems.

You will utilise your extensive knowledge of precision, volume manufacturing to develop and implement processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality delivery and cost objectives whilst leading a team of engineers to accomplish this.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with production and production maintenance teams to assist them with any issues or major breakdowns and improve plant reliability
  • Identifying critical spares on new and existing projects. Raising new items, reviewing current spares looking at safety stock levels, lead times and cost. Sourcing emergency spares. Working with the stores provider to improve the stores system.
  • Negotiating and raising SLA contracts, Identifying requirements for SLA's. Plan in maintenance work and manage contractors on site. Support shutdown work plans. Raise Contractor Job Registrations. Ensure all documentation is in place before vendor's engineers attend site.
  • Running the FRACAS System, Collecting data, sending out parts for inspection and repair. Analysing fault data and implementing improvements and feeding findings back into the OEM's. Feedback any findings into the production and management teams.
  • Contacting vendors for information, quotations and emergency support. Making sure that the correct support required is sent over or the correct engineers are brought to site.
  • Running improvement and maintenance projects across the site whilst having mínimal impact to production.
  • Controlling emergency blanket orders, making sure that the orders are being used correctly and ensuring that the use of the order is critical to the business.
  • Analysing MTTF, MTBF and technical availability/O.E.E data. Managing and controlling the TPM system including PM's & AM's using the SAP PM system. Optimise preventative maintenance schedules based on failure analysis.
  • Maintain SAP PM Structure, Ensure all scheduling and task lists are correct and relevant. Create new structures for new assets and equipment on existing and new projects.
  • Work closely with the CBM (Asset management team) to improve machine reliability and predict failures effectively.
  • Raising ad hoc and emergency sap shopping carts and pushing through the system in a timely manner, managing shopping carts and making sure all goods and services are delivered prior to confirmation.
  • Provide technical support to the production lines.
  • Responsible for and reporting shift performance to senior management on daily/ weekly/ monthly basis.
  • Driving cost, budget control and quality improvements with a keen customer focus.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement within the area of responsibility and supporting the associates in continuous improvement events and activities.
  • Drive Constraint management through the value stream and ensure bottlenecks are identified to remove inefficiencies in the process.
  • Ensuring that the Area operates to the Integrated Production System (IPS) principles and standards, using the latest Quality Operating System (QOS) techniques.
  • Be responsible and adhere to the Safety Operating Systems (SOS) during all stages of Launch /ROC/ steady state production.
  • Support employee attendance initiatives and manage absence control activities such as counselling, capability and disciplinary procedures.
  • Implement Company Policy on pay and benefits including administration tasks

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:


  • Be aware of JLR leadership behaviours and be capable of demonstrating proven areas of strength
  • Experience and knowledge of engine component machining / assembly / testing or have transferable skills from related industries such as the manufacturing of Aerospace Electro / Mechanical Actuators
