Job Introduction

An opportunity has arisen to join the Elective Home Education (EHE) team on a fixed term contract until August 2024.

Main Responsibilities


EHE Team provides the following services:

  • Support to parents in providing suitable education for their children
  • A statutory function of the local authority in identifying children without a suitable education
  • Information, advice and guidance to other agencies on EHE
  • We are seeking an individual who has NVQ 3 in respect of working with children and their families or equivalent.
  • You will report to the EHE Lead and will hold responsibility for a number of children.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring parents are providing a suitable education for their children, and offering support information, advice and guidance were appropriate.
  • You will work with families in the NewcastleunderLyme and Staffordshire Moorlands districts.
  • It is essential that you have experience of enabling parents and children to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available.
  • Experience of working with parents and children in an education setting is also desirable in this role.
