20-25 hours per week

Glasgow Living Wage - £12 per hour

Base location 135 Westmuir St, Parkhead
Reports to Social Purpose Manager
We are looking for someone who is well-organised with good attention to detail to provide administration support and event management assistance at our community facility; Parkhead Schoolhouse.
Experience (paid or voluntary) of working in community events would be an advantage but we are happy to provide on the job training.
You must have good data entry skills and be reasonably confident communicating with other staff, volunteers, and members of the public.
The post-holder will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running and general maintenance of the building.Main duties and responsibilities:
Overseeing community spaces.
- Reporting of repairs for planned and reactive maintenance of the building and grounds
- Ensuring stock and materials are ordered and maintained correctly
- Fire testing and alarm call out cover when required
- Reception cover handling calls, greeting visitors and directing them to services
- Planning events and activities for the local community
- Receiving deliveries for community center and pantry shop
- Administration support for community shop 'The Pantry'
- Overseeing the opening and close of the facility
- Liaise with contractors visiting site
- Working with local partners to ensure activities at the site rum smooth
- Oversee Health and Safety requirements for the facility
With a positive 'can do 'attitude will also need a commitment to helping members of the community book rooms, gain information about the building and provide details about programmes and services where they can get help.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- 12 months experience(paid or voluntary) in an office setting or equivalent that is admin focused
- Experience in time management and task prioritisation
Desirable Experience
- Experience of working in partnership, ideally within a community building or events environment
- Experience of using Health and Safety and other policies and procedures relevant to community centre or building management, including risk assessments

Education and Training
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience of working with voluntary sector and statutory partners in a front facing role.
- SVQ in Business Admin or Events
