Cranleigh STEM is recruiting a Junior Buyer to join an innovative clean energy business at its state-of-the art facility in Surrey.


You will work as part of a cross-functional, highly motivated, dynamic, and rapidly growing team of individuals to develop and produce hydrogen fulling solutions and fuel cell systems.

Role:

The Role:


As Junior Buyer you will be responsible for all purchasing related activities for new products and projects, total ownership from point of PO raising to delivery of goods and supporting day to day procurement activities.

You will provide full admin support in all purchasing activities within the fuel cell team. Including weekly meetings of PO status on all technical projects.


Your responsibilities will include tracking and monitoring all PO's providing forecasts on ETA's and flag potential issues and able to take corrective action when needed, support engineers and all PO queries and collaborate with central purchasing function and finance.


Building relationships and negotiating with suppliers, tracking order, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance, liaising with stock control, goods in teams and management.


Responsibilities:


  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible prices and terms.
  • Maintain positive relationships with existing suppliers and identify new potential suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that materials and services are delivered on time and to the required quality.
  • Analyse data and use it to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that they are sufficient to meet demand.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiencies within the supply chain.

Requirements:


  • Experience in procurement or supply chain management would be advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with Sage 200.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
