About the Role


To be an integral part of the Directorate's Leadership Team (DLT) working alongside Service Directors and with the DCS to establish and maintain the apparatus of continuous improvement.

To lead on the creation and ongoing development of Client's Improvement Board and associated Improvement Plan for children, young people and their families


The role cuts across services in Social Care and Education and into the wider partnership environment, encompassing the entire needs of a child.


A monthly forward plan programme will need to be created and delivered against its Terms of Reference and forward programme.


This will be achieved through; detailed reunification processes; step down from residential care processes including an improved use of SGOs for this cohort; and an improved throughput of Care Leaver accommodation and successful outcomes.

A clear monthly tracker in place for each cohort.


Lead on the development of Edge of Care processes and systems across the city working with colleagues in social care, early help, housing, education and community connexions in this space.


To realise a cost saving of £2.275m through the reduction of adolescent entrants into care; to review and implement 'turn-key' long term solutions for adolescents e.g.

respite care and models for change with families.

To be accountable for the development of a new focused sufficiency and recruitment programme


Specific areas of delivery are; short breaks provision, adolescent step down from social care, adolescent respite and placements for children with disabilities.


To build a recruitment and retention programme with specifics cohorts identified for growth whilst maintaining and growing the generic Fostering Service cohort.


To provide coaching and support to Heads of Service to support their operational improvement plans and child centred restorative practice, including mentoring and oversight to ensure that services meet need.

With specific accelerated focus on identified cohorts for placement change
