We are seeking an Employment Intervention Worker (Visual Impairment) to join our Employment team to deliver high quality one to one pre
- and post-employment support and mentoring to our inactive and unemployed service users who have sight loss. We are looking for someone, who is passionate about working with people with a Visual Impairment and motivated to action change and improve employment accessibility for our VI Service Users.


The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Supporting the service user's progression using a mix of holistic support, challenge and mentoring techniques, keeping a focus on achieving sustainable employment and/or training/education at all times.
  • Liaising with partner agencies to deliver a joined up offer.
  • Maintaining up to date records of action planning and support provided and report on monitoring information

To be successful for this post, you will have:

  • Experience of working with people who have a Visual Impairment, in a 1-1 or group capacity.
  • Knowledge of a range of Visual Impairment conditions.
  • An understanding of the barriers faced by people with a Visual Impairment, such as Social barriers and barriers to technology especially in the labor market and how these can be overcome.
  • Have or able to develop relationship with stakeholders/organisations
  • Employment experience however this is not essential as training will be provided
  • Sound knowledge of Safeguarding and GDPR
  • Good level of English as recording case notes is essential in this role
