The Growth Company (GC) Business Growth Hub Innovation team are looking for a Senior Innovation Specialist AI Cyber Digital who will deliver high-quality specialist business growth advice focused on AI, Cyber, and Digital managing a portfolio of ambitious businesses that are aiming to achieve growth through innovation and develop an AI, Cyber, and Digital Cohort programme for one-to-many delivery whilst leading and supporting the wider GC group on AI, Cyber and Digital developments as required.


Please note that this is a fixed term contract until 31 March 2025

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring services are targeted and tailored to business needs, delivered against contractual obligations, and to an appropriate level of return on investment.
  • Manage quality assurance, monitoring, and reporting of your performance and progress against contractual targets and budgets and wider company requirements related to AI, Cyber, and Digital including integration across GC BGH teams and the Group.
  • Keep up to date with developments in innovation to ensure support services are relevant and aligned to business needs and growth opportunities, particularly in the area of AI, Cyber, and Digital.
  • Lead and manage external, subcontracted, and partner services contributing to the delivery of business advice, ensuring appropriate deployment and utilization according to project and client needs for all AI, Cyber, and Digital delivery.
  • Ensure that potential clients comply with the project eligibility criteria by ensuring that initial eligibility checks, before formal assessment and action planning, are carried out.
  • Making sure clients are personally introduced to those services identified as appropriate (internal and external) and monitoring the delivery of these services to support the client's strategy and/or objectives and address those barriers to growth identified.
  • Ensure client enquiries and partner referrals are correctly recorded on GC's CRM and associated servicespecific data capturing systems, updating progress against agreed actions as plans progress and ensuring all administration is completed on time against deadlines and is checked for accuracy.
  • Undertake detailed diagnostics on a business or a detailed diagnostic on a particular functional or business area using various tools and methods to capture baseline data from clients and identify needs, which should be addressed by developing growth action plans. This will involve the analysis and interpretation of business and market data/intelligence to provide recommendations to senior management teams, Boards, and shareholders.
  • Undertake detailed discussions with client around complex business issues to understand their business challenges, making sound recommendations for appropriate actions that will lead to growth and managing the project/intervention to a successful conclusion.
  • Deliver bespoke AI, Cyber, and Digital support directly to enable them to fully meet their growth potential which typically has needed a more complex intervention; this will also include a multidisciplinary approach to support provision.
  • Support and contribute to any AI, Cyber, and digitalrelated GCwide projects.

Experience:


  • At least degree level business education, or degree level qualification with a management body or the relevant business experience to match those.
  • Significant sector / business experience in the private sector, including at a senior management or Director level.
  • Proven track record in managing the range of business issues associated with periods of business growth particularly relating to AI, Cyber, and Digital, and keeping up to date as technology develops.
  • Professional experience and approach to managing and delivering business assessment, advice, and AI, Cyber, and Digital developments.
  • Has technical knowledge in the key areas of innovation, AI, Cyber, and Digital specifically including machine learning, programming languages, data automation, and big data.
  • Knowledge of budget and contract management practice, particularly with regard to innovation service.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the key national, subregional, and local organisations and their role in supporting economic development and specifically business growth.
