Summary


To be the KI EMEA and APAC central focal point of contact, and expertise, on all HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) topics.

Leading, and animating, the maintenance of standards and the delivery of agreed improvement initiatives in HSE in KI EMEA and APAC, working closely with the Industrial Performance, Central Engineering, Central Sustainability and Central R+D teams


The position works with the wider KI EMEA and APAC HSEEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, Energy and Quality) team (and network) to develop and deliver the KI EMEA and APAC HSEEQ strategy, along with the focused strategic and operational objectives linked directly to HSE topics.


The role also has a strong (expert) part to play in the maintenance of the HSE topics, and relevant documents, within the Knauf Insulation Management System (KIMS).


Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Taking a central, leading and cordinating role in the delivery of a KI EMEA and APAC HSE programme. Providing expert guidance, statistical performance analysis and advice/recommendations to senior management on HSE topics.


With specific focus on (but not limited to) policies, standards, systems, statistical performance (ie results and effectiveness of actions), guidance, training, risk reduction, culture, communication and legal compliance.


Coordinating and cooperating closely with the wider HSEEQ team, and the IP (Industrial Performance) Sustainability team, to formulate the ongoing strategy for the delivery of HSE improvements in KI EMEA and APAC.

Aligning between these 2 teams on, and agreeing responsibilities for, actions, activities and programmes required to deliver the targeted results.

Animating, and chairing, a regular (approx. 6 times a year) Safety Steerco, consisting of HSE specialists and KI EMEA and APAC senior management.

This Steerco will validate the HSE strategy, and implementation actions, and provide feedback, or demands for further actions, for this role to coordinate.


Participate with the KI Plant HSE / IP Sustainability network, consisting of the IP Sustainability team and the Plant/Office HSE Managers, to ensure a structured, consistent and aligned approach to compliance with the Knauf Insulation Management System (KIMS) Policy and Procedures (especially those points linked to HSE).

Through relevant audits, encouraging the development of improvement plans, and benchmarking progress to drive best practice.


Participate in, and contribute expertise to, a regular worldwide safety LTA/Incident review call, reviewing any incidents to facilitate learning and contribute to the prevention of similar incidents in numerous locations.

Taking specific learnings or system actions for consideration as improvement actions.

Be the single point of contact in KI EMEA and APAC for non-plant HSE activities and improvements.

Participate in the review and maintenance of the content of HSE related KIMS documents to ensure relevance and continued validity, launching reviews and updates proactively where necessary (eg. on development of any new guidance the Management System documents will also be checked and updated where required).


Knowledge, Experience & Attributes

  • Bachelors degree in Science or Engineering, specific Health and Safety qualification
OR

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a management role in an international industrial manufacturing environment linked to HSE
  • Experience of working with ISO management standards, particularly 9001, 14001, 45001, 5000
  • Proven experience and expertise in Risk assessment, Root Cause Analysis and associated tools/approaches
  • Robust knowledge and experience of the implementation of improvement and/or cultural change programs in HSE
  • Intonational mobility up to 30%
  • Languages Fluent in English, French and German would be an asset
