Wills Consultants are seeking a Private Client Tax Senior/Assistant Manager, to join growing Private Client Tax team at their brand-new office premises.


As the Private Client Tax Senior/Assistant Manager, you will be part of a small and friendly team managing broad private client portfolio.

You will be working closely with colleagues in Cambridgeshire and across the region.

As the Private Client Tax Senior/Assistant Manager will:

  • Deal with a wide range of compliance matters, including the preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates
  • Be responsible for the completion of Capital Gains Tax returns, Inheritance Tax accounts and Trust Registration filing requirements
  • Be responsible for handling of HM Revenue & Customs enquiries, remuneration planning and assisting with a variety of tax advisory projects
  • Utilise your strong technical expertise to provide excellent front line client service to your portfolio, alongside reviewing selfassessment tax returns completed by other staff and assisting with their development of more junior staff
  • Be involved in business development activities
For the successful Private Client Tax Senior/Assistant Manager, we are seeking the following qualities:

  • A minimum of 3 years recent practice experience within a personal tax role, or a mixed role including personal tax
  • Should hold or be studying towards the CTA qualification (or be qualified by experience). ICAEW, ACCA and or STEP qualifications wouldbe beneficial. Study support may be considered
  • Teamplayer able to work independently
  • A high level of ICT literacy with sound knowledge of MS Word, Excel and accounting/tax software packages. Knowledge of CCH software would be beneficial
  • Ability to assist in providing technical support across the firm
  • Ability to work autonomously whilst also building/developing a team. Previous experience of supervising and reviewing the work of more junior staff would be useful
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of private clients alongside reviewing selfassessment tax returns completed by other staff.
Previous exposure to all aspects of Personal Tax compliance work within a professional services environment is essential,to include:


  • Capital Gains Tax planning
  • Remuneration planning


  • IR3

  • Trusts/Inheritance Tax
  • Benefits in Kind/P11Ds
