This well established company is seeking to recruit a Direct Debit & Accounts Assistant who ideally will be an enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach, good communication and interpersonal skills to work within our busy team.

The opportunity is at head office based in Galgate.

The role is available immediately.


_Undertaking financial administration duties, including;_

  • Processing of direct debits, generating and sending of new mandates and collection requests via Bacs.
  • Collation of Bacs communications and distribution to the relevant department.
  • Processing of payment files and allocation to the specific clients.
  • Administration of direct debit databases, including inputting of new mandates, action of Bacs communications, allocation of payments and liaising with our Direct Debit clients.
  • Purchase ledger processing and distribution across cost centres, including advance reconciliation work of expenses.
  • Purchase & Credit control.
  • Raising monthly invoices.
  • Responsible for bank account reconciliation.

_Job specific skills / technical skills / requirements_

  • Previous finance experience essential.,
  • In depth knowledge of the Finance department functions, including reporting & reconciliation.
  • Strong numeracy skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Use of Microsoft packages,
    with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong spoken and written communication.
  • An organised and methodical approach, with good time management
  • Comfortable working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Enjoy working in a closeknit finance team.
AAT Qualified desirable but not essential.


Working Days:


  • Monday
  • Friday 09:00 17:00 with 0.5 hour lunch break. Excluding Bank Holidays.

Salary commensurate with previous experience, between £20,000 (£10.25 p/h) to £23,500 (£12.05 p/h).
