Brief duties outline:
- a commitment to keep up to date with safeguarding knowledge and to develop a clear understanding of individual roles & responsibilities when acting on a safeguarding concern
- a good understanding of standards in the EYFS Framework to ensure that children learn and develop well and gain the broad range of knowledge and skills to provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life and to use the EYFS principles to inform your practice.
- be able to plan and prepare exciting play opportunities that meet the children's developmental needs and stimulates their learning.
- act as a key person to a group of children for part of each day. To observe and assess children's development and keep accurate records of their achievement.
- support Lead Practitioner/Room Leader in ensuring an effective transition for all children at key points in their early education including from home to setting and setting to school, nursery or to another childcare provider.
- establish and maintain positive relationships with children and their families in a way that values parental involvement.
