Role

To assist in organising and controlling the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allocated budget, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Hourly Rate:
£10.62 per hour

Part time - 13hrs per week

Monday & Saturday Shift - 9:30 till 4:30

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Good communication skills

- spoken and written English essential

Team player
Satisfactory Disclosure Scotland check and current PVG scheme ID number
Undertaking to complete registration with the SSSC within the timescales set by that organisation
Willingness to participate in training programmes both E learning and Face to Face

Desired:

Care Home and Care for the Elderly experience
Experience of food preparation for the relevant service user group

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals, keeping stock and provisions.
Prepare and reset dining room as per Chef's instructions.
Wash up after meals. Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area (and, where appropriate, the dining areas) is carried out effectively. Ensure all detergents are returned to their designated areas.
Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with environmental health standards.
Report immediately to the Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Service User, colleague, self or another.
Understand, and ensure the implementation of, the Care Centre's Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.

Experience:

- kitchen: 1 year (preferred)

Work authorisation:
