Under the direction of the location EHS Manager, the EHS Adviser will support the daily E, H and S functions for the Kawneer facility.

They will be accountable for ensuring on site activities are performed within external regulatory requirements and internal management guidelines. They will be required to develop and manage EHS programmes with the support of the EHS Manager.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain systems to drive compliance, fatality prevention and injury reduction.
  • Analyse injury and incident data and assist line management in the implementation of focused injury reduction efforts.
  • Provide expertise to proactively address injury reduction efforts.
  • Provide technical expertise and participate in injury / incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage EHS action databases to ensure the location remains in line with plans.
  • Select and manage PPE requirements.
  • Assist with the completion of designated EHS audit protocols.
  • Develop, review and facilitate EHS related training.
  • Assess, evaluate, eliminate / minimize risks collaboratively with employees using technical knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Coordinate the development of systems to ensure metrics are accurate and timely as per Arconic guidelines.
  • Maintain chemical inventory database and ensure SDS software tool is available to all employees
  • Serve as a technical mentor and provide leadership to respiratory protection, contractor safety, chemical inventory and ergonomics programmes.
  • Support the location to manage the onsite effluent treatment plant in order to remain compliant with the site permit.

Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in related discipline
  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in related fast paced industry
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, problemsolving and presentation skills
  • Must be highly organised and able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a very fastpaced environment

Preferred

  • Environmental Management qualification
  • Experience of working with Environment Agency Permits
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
