About the role:


As the Head of Strategy, Insight, and Innovation at AXA UK&I, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization.

Reporting to the CEO's Chief of Staff, you'll lead a dynamic team to drive strategic initiatives, identify growth opportunities, and foster innovation.

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on AXA's market position and contribute to the long-term success of our business.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:

Strategic LeadershipGuide the strategy team in developing AXA UK&I's long-term strategic plans, focusing on priorities that positively influence business growth and profitability.

Market AnalysisProactively analyse direct and indirect markets, ensuring the leadership team is well-informed on industry and competitor dynamics, trends, and developments relevant to AXA UK&I.

Innovation and InsightLead the team to identify and incubate innovative ideas based on external insight and internal opportunities.

CollaborationWork collaboratively with key stakeholders to execute strategic plans, providing analytical interpretation and robust challenge to support, steer, and influence strategic thought processes.

Strategic PlanningLead the annual strategic planning process, reviewing and refining existing strategies in alignment with finance.

Community BuildingBuild a community of strategists across AXA UK&I's business units and support functions, fostering strong relationships with Group strategy colleagues.

M&A ManagementManage strategic M&A activity, including developing business cases and navigating confidentiality, compliance, regulatory, and audit requirements.

Specialist SupportProvide specialist strategic support to address complex and high-priority issues with a significant impact.


About you:


  • Proven experience leading and managing a team
  • Detailorientated with outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills, coupled with the ability to think strategically and solve complex problems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders to create buyin and drive creative solutions to complex problems
  • Experience of leading M&A activity and the strategic planning cycle
  • Ability to work with ambiguity to clear timelines
  • Strong commercial acumen and able to make compelling and considered recommendations
  • Intellectually curious, proactive and analytical
  • High EQ with a solutionoriented attitude
  • Able to listen, demonstrate empathy and gain people's trust at all levels
  • Works without ego
  • Promotes autonomy, mastery and purpose within the team
