Material Handler / Combi-Lift FLT Driver


The Best Connection are currently seeking an experienced materials handler based in the Alfreton area, responsible for operating multiple pieces of MHE to successfully complete stockyard operations

COUNTERBALANCE AND COMBI OR SIDELOADER LICENCE/EXPERIENCE ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS ROLE

Role and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for daily checks on MHE equipment in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure all loading is undertaken to best practice standards including accuracy against picking paperwork.
  • Prepare orders for loading using a batchbased Inventory system, checking the loading sheet and spec.
  • Produce despatch dockets for outbound deliveries from ERP system and assist with control of stock.
  • Unload/receive goods from suppliers, process delivery notes and load coils, pipe lengths and fittings onto outbound delivery vehicles.
  • Supply manufacturing with coil storage frames and move new stock into locations.
  • Responsible for marking product for final customer delivery.
  • Liaise with onsite shunter for trailer selection.
  • Comply with health, safety and environmental control including auditing, near miss reporting and inspections.
  • Monitor and report any stock variations, raising any quality issues to Lead Hand.
  • Work in line with agreed picking rates, highlighting any issues which may be presented.

  • Excellent safety awareness is essential with willingness to receive training in legislation and auditing.
  • Experience of working within a stockyard environment in all weathers.
  • Good numerical ability, with basic computer keyboard skills.
  • Problem solving skills, with a high attention detail and the ability to deal accurately with a lot of information.
  • Willingness and ability to cover other general duties and cover holidays within the stockyard.

Desirable Skills:


  • Experience gained in a manufacturing process, warehouse, or production line environment.
  • All terrain telehandler trained.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience of liaising with customers and suppliers.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday

Rotating Days (6am - 2pm) and Afters (2pm-10pm)

Pay Rate

  • A salary of
    £25,928, plus a
    shift allowance of £1,561, totalling
    £27,489 per annum.
